I was having a hard time finding a job in my native country, the Philippines, after I graduated from college. I was just relying on the classified ads and word of mouth most of the time I was job hunting. I wish there had been some kind of HealthcareJobsite there that I could search for jobs in the nearby area but there was none. Before I came here to the US, I had no idea of what the weather was like here in northern Minnesota. The day I arrived here in late March of 2006 was about 45 degrees Fahrenheit in Minneapolis and I thought I was going to freeze into a block of ice. Even though my new husband had provided me with warm winter clothing, I could not stop shivering until I got to the warmth of our hotel room. Fortunately, the weather began to quickly warm up after that and soon I was experiencing a beautiful Minnesota spring and summer. It was a good thing that I did not arrived in December like we were first hoping because I might have changed my mind and gone back to the Philippines before spring arrived.

Now here it is December again already and I am not looking forward to another long cold Minnesota winter. Fortunately, we are planning a trip to the Philippines in the upcoming months so hopefully I won’t have to endure the cold weather for too many more months. We are also now starting to think about buying a place in the Philippines and spending the winter months there while coming back here for the great spring and summer weather. That would be the best of both worlds in my opinion.

I love to be able to get out in the sun on those warm Minnesota days and spend sometime boating and fishing on the area lakes. I also like traveling a lot and have thought about buying an RV so that we could travel to visit my sister in Colorado and our friends in New York whenever we would like. The perfect rig for our Minnesota summers would be an RV towing our boat with a motorcycle on the back bumper of the RV. I have been checking out the RVs at the b n rv website and they have the perfect rig at rock bottom prices.

I have never seen my hubby get this mad watching football on television when we were watching the Vikings play the Falcons today. We both expected that the Vikings would have a winning season this year after firing Childress as the head coach but we were wrong. This year is probably the worst season that the Vikings have ever played, very disappointing. My hubby was threatening to never watch the Vikings again. He said that he has now gone back to being a Packers fan because they play smart and he once lived in Wisconsin near Green Bay. I guess you would call my hubby and I fair weather fans.

My sister in Germany told me that when I get pregnant I don’t have to buy a lot of maternity dresses because she would give me hers. That would be a great savings for me and my hubby if I don’t get as big as my sister in Colorado when she was pregnant. She was wearing plus size clothing all along during her pregnancy because she gained a lot of weight.

One of our neighbors uses his lot for camping. He only comes on holidays and special occasions like fishing season opener, deer hunting season, labor day, the 4th of July and such. He has Picnic Tables and other outdoor furniture that he makes good use of when he has large groups of his friends and relatives visiting. He also has park benches. Not the fancy kind but they sure look like the commercial Park Benches.

My hubby and I have a few outdoor furnishings. We use them regularly to sit out in the sun on nice days. We have an outdoor table and chairs but it would be nice to get some more so we can entertain large groups of our friends and family also. The Adirondack chairs would be great to have something to recline on.

Try to imagine life without music. I can’t imagine it. For some reason, music has a therapeutic effect on me. I love listening to music but don’t know how to play any musical instruments. Crystal Singing Bowls are good musical instrument. I haven’t seen anyone playing this kind of musical instrument just yet but I found out that crystal singing bowls are commonly used for meditation and sound healing. I find that to be a very interesting idea. When I get stress out, especially at this time of the year, singing bowls would probably be a great help in soothing my feelings. It is very tempting to give them a try.

The holiday season is fast approaching. Aside from birthdays, it is the time of the year that I usually give presents to my nieces and nephew. I went to town today and already started shopping for presents for my family back home in the Philippines. I do most of my shopping at a nearby town but I also shop online, especially if I can find really good deals. Most of the things that I bought at the store were clothes. I still have a lot of room to fill in the balikbayan box that I am going to send to the Philippines early next year so I will still be doing more shopping in the meantime.

I want my nephew to be a fan of MLB and the NFL. I am a fan of those sports myself. I am a Twins fan and a Vikings fan to be precise.
