Today is my birthday. I can’t thank God enough for giving me such a wonderful and loving husband. Even though sometimes he is such a puts, he still loves me for who I am. I did not expect that my father would send me a birthday wish text message for the very first time. My father is not expressive but I know he loves me because he has always been there to support me in everything that I do. If it was not for him, I would not have been able to finish college. I appreciate all of his efforts and will always remember them in my heart.

Life had not been good to me and my family when I was a kid. I grew up in poverty and sometimes with not enough food to eat but I thanked God and my parents for providing an abundance of love. If it were not for their loving care, I would not be where I am today. It felt really great to receive birthday wishes from my siblings and niece as well. Thank you all so much!

I have been waiting for my hubby’s medical bill and it finally came in the mail yesterday. The bill is less than what I was anticipating but is still substantial because my hubby is now retired. My hubby and I are planning to put it on one of our 0% APR credit cards. That way we save some money and earn cash back as well. My hubby’s health care provider covers eighty percent of the total costs so we have to pay twenty percent. Our finances are kind of tight right now. I need to cut back on some expenses. I was planning to go shopping on my birthday but that will probably not happen. That is okay with me as long as our needs are met.

My hubby was hospitalized for four days. I have no idea yet how much that will cost us. I am still waiting for the medical bills to come in the mail. This percentage can amount to a substantial amount depending upon the total of the bill. Since my hubby is now retired, our finances can get very tight sometimes, especially if there are additional expenses. On top of the medical bills, I also have tuition fees to pay for my siblings in college. Fortunately, I am making some money in my blogging. Even though it is not much, every little bit helps. I received a friend request notification from someone that I did not expect to find me on Facebook. I haven’t asked her yet how she found me because my account is private. Also, I could not find out who our mutual friend was before responding to her friend request. I checked on my cousin’s page first. Her name sounds familiar but I am not quite sure because I have never met her. My mother said that she occasionally talked to her on the phone but that was all I knew about her.

She is a daughter of my mother’s older sister. They moved to another area before I was born and they never went back to visit us in the village. The first time I met her mother was during my grandma’s funeral and that was the only time. Even though we haven’t seen each other much, there has been constant communication.

I sent back a message asking if I should know her and she replied that she was my aunt’s daughter. The rest is history.

I can now finally feel the summer season here in northern Minnesota. It has been warm these past few days and I like it. I am enjoying it immensely. It is now beginning to feel like I am back in the Philippines. It is currently ninety degrees Fahrenheit. My hubby said that he would like to turn on our air conditioning. I could turn it on myself if I wanted to because the air condition is just a few feet away from me but I decided not to. I will wait for my hubby to do it because he is the one who wants it running, not me .

My hubby and I were supposed to go to town today but he called it off. We decided instead to stop by at a grocery store tomorrow on our way home from his doctor’s appointment. I don’t know what is going on with us but for some reason, neither one of us have been feeling well lately. I am still dealing with jet lag while my hubby is dealing with leg and back pain. Lord please help us so my hubby and I will get over these health problems very soon. It is very difficult for us to live life like this.
